SPIRAL POINT TAPS
Spiral point taps, also known as "gun taps", are used to tap threads through holes. The first few threads of the tap are angled to push chips ahead of the cutting action, which reduces loading and clogging in the flutes. The tap's cutting torque also increases as the cutting chamfer enters the material.
