METRIC DOMESTIC PLUG TAPS

Metric domestic plug taps, also known as middle or intermediate taps, are used for general threading tasks in through holes. They are the most common type of tap and are suitable for most threading applications. Plug taps have a chamfer length that is in between that of taper and bottom taps. They offer a balance between starting ease (like a taper tap) and the ability to reach the full depth (like a bottom tap) in through holes. Plug taps are good for general purpose use, and are what you usually get in repair and starter sets.
