PIPE UNIONS

Pipe unions, or threaded fittings, are used to connect pipes and equipment without having to cut or solder. They are made up of three parts: a top part that connects to a pipe, a middle nut that tightens the joint, and a bottom part that connects to another pipe. The surface area where the two connections meet is called the seat, which can be made from the same material or a softer material to create a tight seal.
