HACKSAW BLADES

Hacksaw blades are fine-toothed saws made of high-speed steel (HSS) that are used to cut hard materials like metal and plastics. The blades are distinguished by their teeth per inch (TPI), which can range from three to 32 TPI. The TPI helps determine the thickness of material the blade can cut and the type of material it's best suited for:

  • Course grade: Good for thick materials like aluminum, brass, copper, and mild steel
  • Medium grade: Good for most metals, but may struggle with thicker projects
  • All hard: Extremely fine blades with 30–32 TPI that are hardened and tempered to stay sharp longer and reduce brittleness. These blades are good for cutting cast iron and mold iron.
